On November 30th BPP will be running their Commercial Awareness Workshop here at Brunel. It is open to everyone – both law students and non law students. Workshops 1 & 2 will be held here on 30th November and the final workshop will be in the new year.

The first 2 workshops will be here at Brunel University:

Date: 30/11/2011

Location: LC 263

Workshop 1: What is “commercial awareness”? How can you improve it?

BPP will assist you in getting to the bottom of that frequently used phrase “commercial awareness” – that vital element that all employers are looking for – and, importantly, what it takes to get it!

Workshop 2: How can you demonstrate that you have “commercial awareness”?

Many students even with minimum work experience already have a degree of commercial awareness but is this visible to an employer? We will address how you can show that you already have it and can put it to good use.

Workshop 3: What are employers looking for? – Tips on interviews, vacation schemes and surviving your training contract.

BPP have canvassed the opinions of leading graduate recruiters, partners, solicitors and trainees and will share with you their thoughts on using your commercial awareness to succeed at interview, during vacation schemes and throughout the duration of your training contract. This session will be run by BPP Careers consultants and external speakers from law firms, advising you on how to maximise your prospects of success of a successful entry into the legal profession.

Students who attend all three workshops will be awarded a Certificate in Commercial Awareness from BPP Law School.
